A Symbol of Unity and Peace

The Door of Tolerance is a unique and powerful symbol of unity, tolerance, and mutual respect between Israel and Saudi Arabia. This historic door, dating back to the Ottoman Empire, was originally part of the Cenacle room, also known as the Room of the Last Supper. This site holds profound religious significance for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, making it a perfect representation of shared values and coexistence.

Historical Significance

The Cenacle room is revered by all three major Abrahamic religions. For Jews, it is traditionally believed to be the tomb of King David; for Christians, it is the site of the Last Supper; and for Muslims, it has been used as a mosque. The door was removed during renovations and, after no longer fitting the doorway, was put into storage. Years later, it was gifted to our founder, Avraham Salinger, as a token of appreciation for his contributions to the Tomb of King David Complex.

A Vision for Peace

Inspired by the biblical precedent set by Jacob when he confronted Esau with gifts to establish peace, Avraham Salinger envisioned using the door as a token of goodwill and tolerance. The Door of Tolerance will be transformed into a stunning golden display, set in Jerusalem stone, and presented as a gift from Israel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This gesture aims to symbolize the shared values and mutual respect between these two nations.

Design and Symbolism

The Door of Tolerance will be covered in gold to enhance its value and significance. Surrounding the door will be twelve golden panels depicting scenes of religious significance and tolerance between Judaism and Islam. The door will be set in a frame made of Jerusalem stone, designed to resemble a section of a Jerusalem stone wall with an octagonal base, connecting it to the Dome of the Rock's shape. Additionally, a beautifully designed doorknob with diamonds and gems in the shape of the Dome of the Rock will add to its symbolic value.
